Which bike is best for me?

There are a large number of factors in choosing the right bike. Everything from skill level, confidence, body size, height, the type of riding you are doing and of course (for those who do not have a dark tinted full face helmet), what you can be seen riding in public.

Which bike is best for the Ps test(MOST) | Motorcycle Operator Skills Test

Absolute Beginner

Honda cb125e - If you are concerned that your skills may be at the beginner level at best, then definitely start off with the Honda cb125e. It has a great turning circle, low seat height and is easily manoeuvrable. The Honda cb125e is a great bike to hire to get some practise on. Whether it has been 12 months since your pre-learner course or the ink on your licence is still drying, the Honda cb125e is the bike for you.

Beginner

Want something easy to ride but with a bit more up and go?? Maybe you are quite tall? If you want something easy with enough power to get you somewhere, then the Honda VTR250 is the motorbike for you. Although the Honda cb125 is great, no question, it is however only suitable for around the suburbs. So any big trips through the National Park, or on the motorways, you will feel a lot more comfortable with the Honda VTR250.
Also consider similar bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja 250 or Kawasaki Ninja 300. Although these bikes look sporty, the riding is position is not super aggressive but actually fairly comfortable and upright. So if the reason you don't thinkk you will take these bikes is because you are thinking, 'OH MY WRISTS WILL HURT', think again!
For Great styling and a fantastic sporty feel, you cannot go passed the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Even the tank cut-outs are perfect for gripping with the legs, hanging off and getting your knee down,(We are not lying, check out our track ninja photos if you do not believe us!! (and that is without even trying).

If you are familiar with riding, or have just got the Learners, step up to a 250cc bikes. They are great for learning, light-weight, easy to steer and have a low seat height.

Intermediate

Do not be put off by bigger sized engines. It is the weight and size of the bike that you should be scared by.(kidding)

If you have got the basics of handling, steering and vision and you feel comfortable with a 250cc, consider trying something bigger. Before you graduate to either your provisionals or a full unrestricted licence, it is a good idea to get some experience on bigger size bikes. Even if you are on the Learner's Licence you can still rent the bigger LAMS motorbikes
If you want to feel dramatically increased torque levels then choose the motorbikes with engine sizes of 500cc+

Higher Intermediate

Well, if we have just had all the big engine LAMS motorbikes covered in the Intermediate section,
what other bikes can there possibly be in this category?

Step up from road riding to the The super-powerful, super light-weight Track Ready NINJA 300

...

...

Well it's a little bit lighter (a whole 2kg. WOW!!) and has an exhaust for better flow & more power, which actually sounds good, not like those annoying ones that buzz up and down the street at midnight keeping you awake).

Why a 300?
Why not a 500 or a 659?
The Ninja 300 is very sporty, great to hang off with and more importantly is not throttle restricted like the bigger bikes. That's right! 100% throttle movement, not the 30-40% you have on a 650 or 659 Monster. This is important for getting the most out of corners, but you will learn more about that at California Superbike School (no affiliation) that's right, we just highly recommend them, because they are GREAT.

We also recommend Top Rider with Bernie Hatton

We would also like to recommend motoDNA but we are still waiting for their permission, hopefully we will hear from them soon. Oh whatever here is the web address http://motodna.net/
